Find your way around the workbench
On this page
The workbench brings intent, chats, and investigation records into one window. Read one item at a time, or put a document beside a chat so you can refer to the text while discussing it.
Find the main entry points
The top of the sidebar offers project switching, New Intent, New Chat, and search. The project actions area shows investigation status and the Explain or Realize actions.
| List | Contents |
|---|---|
| intents | Intent documents arranged by folder. |
| Pinned | Pinned chats; shown when there are any. |
| chats | Other chat history. |
| Runs | Manual and automatic explanation tasks, with records of each execution. |
| Organized | An organization plan being generated or awaiting review; shown when a plan exists. |
Settings and feedback are at the bottom. Running chats and tasks show their status, and proposals awaiting review have a notification.
Use a single pane or side-by-side panes
Click a sidebar item to open it. If content is already open, the item usually replaces the current tab, or the most recently used pane in a side-by-side layout.
Drag a document or chat from the sidebar to the left or right half of the main area to create two panes. In an existing split, dropping it on a side replaces that side. Drag the divider to resize the panes. Closing one returns the other to a single-pane view.
Opening an intent or explanation reference from a chat keeps the chat visible and opens the target on the other side. If the chat previously filled the main area, Noea places the document on the left and the chat on the right.
Search the project
Click search or press ⌘K / Ctrl+K. The search panel offers All, Intents, and Chats:
- Intents searches documents, paragraphs, and paragraph-level and local explanations.
- Chats searches titles, user messages, and assistant replies.
- With no query, the panel shows recently opened content.
Use the arrow keys to choose a result, Enter to open it, or ⌘Enter / Ctrl+Enter to open it on the other side. Tab switches the search category; Esc closes the panel. The preview shows content related to the selected result.
Find text in the current document
Press ⌘F / Ctrl+F to open the find bar. It matches document text and implementation explanations in margin notes, opening the corresponding note when a match is there.
Use previous and next match to move through results. With two panes, click the one you want to search before opening find. The find bar does not offer replacement.
Navigate with the outline
The document outline lists level-one through level-three headings. Click one to jump to it. The outline updates after edits and is hidden when there are fewer than two headings across those levels.
Adjust outline visibility in Settings → Document. Theme and interface language are in Settings → General; system notification settings are under Notifications.
